Mgr. Josef Ledvina Ph.D.

Josef Ledvina is an art historian and theoretician of art as well as an art critic. At FAMU, he is involved in teaching theoretical subjects, working as a thesis supervisor and carrying out research activities. He focuses on the history of postwar art, recent developments in art, and the general issues of image theory. Ledvina is also the editor-in-chief of Art+Antiques (AA) magazine; as a critic he regularly contributes to AA and other Czech cultural periodicals. He is co-author of the book Fotografie, socha, objekt (Prague: NAMU, 2017) and he has published several studies in theperiodical Sešit pro umění, teorii a příbuzné zóny. Josef Ledvina studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University.
