Hynek Alt is a contemporary artist. In his work, he combines photographic fundamentals with the techniques typical of gallery installation. By taking the medium of photography and the personality of a photographer as his themes, he demonstrates how tricky and fragile the perception of a photographic image is, and how the viewer’s experience is manipulated by optical deceptions and illusions. Alt graduated from the Department of Photography, FAMU, and from the Visual Research Lab at the State University of New York. In the past, he worked with Aleksandra Vajd as an artistic duo. Between 2008 and 2016, they jointly led the Studio of Photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
