Hynek Alt graduated from the Department of Photography at FAMU and the Visual Research Lab at the State University of New York. In his work he deals with the theme of the photographic medium itself as well as the persona of a photographer. He demonstrates the fragility and trickiness of perception of a photographic image. His examination of the relationship with the medium of photograpy is multi-layered; he uses optical illusions to manipulate the photographic image. Previously he was one half of the artist duo with Aleksandra Vajd. Between 2008 and 2016 they together the Department of Photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. At the Department of Photography he teaches New Media.
