In his guest lecture Arno will present three of his latest installations : Archeology (Reims 2016), Ghost stories (Mannheim 2017) and Say Schibboleth (Hohenems 2018).

A lecture by artist, Juliana Höschlová, will provide a view on themes, considerations, and resources she has been dealing with for a long time.

Whether we are artists, photographers, or writers, how can we organise our practice in an age of total uncertainty?

Who we actually are? Beyond all the social roles, stereotypization, selfpresentation, or (social) media glitter.

Philip Zimmermann is an artist and teacher at the University of Arizona. He received a BFA from Cornell University and his MFA in Photographic Studies at the The Visual Studies Workshop. Although working in various media, his preferred form is the photographic artists’ bookwork.

Media studies has opened up new avenues of research across fields, helping to reframe the objects, sites, and histories of scholarly inquiry, providing a way to challenge accepted historical layers of social and technical arrangements.

Slides is a speculative narrative about private communication, related technologies, and the present future around us.

The premise of media philosophy is that philosophy itself changes with its media.

As an artist I mainly create context-sensitive spatial installations and objects, that are informed by architecture, politics, art-historical references, the performative aspects of installation art and its social dynamics.

All the exhibited works are to some extent results of the educational process at the Department of Photography (DP).

The research into artists who actively worked to create Czechoslovak performance art in the seventies, and into work of Petr Štembera in particular, revealed the importance of photography for these endeavours.

Zheng Munghui focuses on the collapse between the virtual and the real world in relation to crime.

The lecture is focused on phenomenon of celery roots. There is a their brief history in the context of art and philosophy.

Laura Amann and Jen Kratochvil will present their interests following and forming the dramaturgy of their long term project Significant Other.

The lecture focuses on the transition of a part of the world population from the state and corporations controlled economy to the shared economy. Jirka Skála will attempt to interpret the possible reasons for this social and economic transition, using the Internet phenomenon Unboxing.

The term “artists’ books” usually refers to the publication of works that exist only as books—not catalogs of exhibitions or monographs— where the affordances of the book are integral to the creative expression.

The lecture is the answer to questions that haunt me or make me happy when I think about what I actually saw in the gallery, why there and not somewhere else and what it meant for me.

Deschamps will discuss exciting recent developments in photography by African-Americans as well as speaking about some of his own work dealing with issues of cultural identity.
